The paper consists in the analysis and translation of the poem of Chesterton, “The White Witch”. In it the author sets up a contrast between two heathen goddesses –Diana and Hecate– and the Virgin Mary. Chesterton takes the issue up to criticize the interpretation of Tennyson about the medieval Grial. From it, he is able to show the connection between the Puritan model of woman with the heathen model, in contrast with the medieval one.

Original title: Juegos olvidados: ¿perdidos para siempre o aun salvables?
Published in Games from Antiquity to Baroque
Keywords: Ancient Archaeology, Board games, Rules.
In this article we propose to reflect on the reconstruction of the rules of ancient board games. Is it possible to know the original rules? What can we do to reconstruct them? The research project Locus ludi deals with modules of game rules that, in theory, can be combined in any way. In this way, it is possible to test the functionality of game rule variants or reconstruction proposals, and even to create family trees.

Throughout this study, and after situating the text and the reasons for it writing historically, I call it antichronicle, a true contrafactum to the chronicles of the Indies and the diving arts of its time. I link it to the warnings and to the relationships of events and I analyze its rhetorical structure, the influence of the thematic sermon and of the ars praedicandi. I refer to the important relationship with the printer Juan de Villaquirán. And finally, I study two fundamental themes in the work: humour and self-satire on the one hand, and his observational point of view on contemporary uses and customs on the other.

In the last decades the historical-musical research has become necessary object for the performance of works of distant periods. The joining of common elements between rhetorical and musical discourse adds to the material interpretative bases that underlie it. This fact shows some correlations between the Gigas by François Couperin and the French spoken language in order to base their performance.

Keywords: Holiness, Memory, Nuno de Santa Maria.
The Church has always celebrated the apostles and martyrs of Christ, who by their example strengthened the new religion. In this sense, holiness must be understood as a historical phenomenon, inserted in a very complex context, which gave the Christian religion its first foundations. In this text we aim to discuss some aspects related to the life and construction of a saint of medieval origin. São Nuno de Santa Maria became a saint through the canonical proclamation in April 2009.
From Mystical-Cognitive Experience to Mystical Epistemology: Hildegard of Bingen

Keywords: 12th Century, Experience, Feminine mysticism, Metaphysics of the senses, Rationality.
Hildegard of Bingen habitually wrote from the perspective of her visionary gift, but on occasions she also reflected on the latter. The majority of her works were written with reference to a specific mystical-cognitive experience; but she also analyses this and develops, in various passages, a mystical epistemology. At the base of her epistemology are the «interior» senses, which she locates in the soul. «Interior» vision and hearing are linked to reason and memory, through which she carries out an original intellectual activity: the auditory contemplation of truth. Thus, starting from her mystical-cognitive experience, Hildegard arrives at the formulation of a theory of mystical epistemology. Subsequently she extrapolates from this a personal hermeneutic understanding which allows her to reveal new «mysteries» of the scriptures, essential matter for the faithful, and hitherto unexplained by either the sages or the doctores, despite their erudition.

He became known by different names and nicknames and is revered as far afield as Spain, Ghana, Peru and Haiti. This article will review some of the many facets that portray the first Christian Martyr.
From cognitive perception to auditory perception. The evolution of the verb entendre in Old Catalan (13th-16th centuries)

Keywords: Auditory Verbs, Evidenciality, Invited Inferencing, Old Catalan, Perception Verbs, Verb Entendre.
This study analyzes the process of semantic change by which the Old Catalan verb entendre developed from the 13th to the 16th centuries from a meaning based on intellectual perception to one implying auditory perception. In particular, this article shows that by the end of the 14th century the verb entendre had only semanticized the perception of linguistic stimuli and had not fused completely with the meaning of the verb oir, as was the case with the evolution of INTENDERE in other Romance languages (such as French, Occitan, and Sardinian). Our study has been based on data analysis of an electronic linguistic corpus using the concepts of E. C. Traugott's Invited Interfering Theory of Semantic Change (TCSII) (2012) and the concept of evidenciality.
